landing party ( for thecanarylives )
[ He comes to with his head pounding, his vision blurred, and a persistent ringing in his ears. It takes him a while-- a good while, maybe seconds or maybe minutes, to even regain his vision properly, and to take in his surroundings. He's in a shuttle, which is completely wrecked, panels broken and burnt, wires hanging from everywhere, sparks going off and small fires here or there. They're also tilted forward slightly, so he can feel his weight pushing against the belts keeping him strapped to his chair. He looks beyond the window and he sees a lush forest just outside, trees and blue skies as far as the eye can see. It'd be pretty if not for the fact that they've clearly crashed on the planet they were supposed to land on.
Shit. Holy shit, they crashed. How the fuck did they crash? Leonard just wanted to gather some samples from the surface, it didn't even warrant a landing party bigger than two people, how the fuck did they end up like this?
That thought gets his brain into gear. Because he's not alone. He looks over to find Sara passed out, though at least thankfully still strapped to her seat. He lets out a shuddered breath, trying not to panic as he struggles to undo his own safety belt. ]
Sara!! Come on, you piece of shi-- [ His panicked grousing is cut off as his belt comes undone, and he just barely manages to brace himself against the controls rather than slam right into them. Head still spinning, he nevertheless forces himself to stumble towards her, looking her over briefly for possible injuries before he cups her face, trying to wake her up. ] Sara. Hey, can you hear me? Come on, open your eyes...

Head still spinning, he nevertheless forces himself to stumble towards her, looking her over briefly for possible injuries before he cups her face, trying to wake her up. ] Sara. Hey, can you hear me? Come on, open your eyes...

[ But he's not opposed. He did get up to get her comm device, he can take care of breakfast. He should probably clean up their plates from last night, anyway. ]
What do you feel like havin'? Some pancakes, maybe?
no subject
Pancakes sound good. Coffee, too. Anything else? [ Keying in a large order of pancakes, a side of fruit, and two coffees, she stretches her neck a little, turning to glance over him and smiling at his silhouette. ]
no subject
No. That's just perfect. [ Not necessarily talking about just the breakfast. ]
no subject
Turning to take the tray of food and coffee, she makes her way back towards the bed, handing him the tray before climbing back in. ]
I'll try not to get maple syrup everywhere. [ She grins, leaning over to peck him on the cheek. ]
no subject
Guess we can always think of interesting ways to clean it up if you do.
[ Clean it off each other, that is. If it gets on the bed, he'll just have to change the sheets. ]
no subject
Well, I do like when we get creative. [ She smirks, pouring a bit of syrup onto the stack of pancakes and swiping a bit with her finger to taste. It's good, even for replicator food - though there's a chance they've just gotten used to that slightly synthetic aftertaste having been away for so long.
She plucks a few berries from the bowl, leaning a shoulder against his and munching on them. ]
You sleep okay?
no subject
He cuts up a corner of one of the pancakes, bringing it up for a taste. ]
Actually, yes. Slept better than I can remember in a while.
[ Even better than the last time they spent the night together. ]
no subject
She reaches out to toy her fingers through her hair again, corner of her lip twitching upwards a little as she watches him. ]
Yeah. Me too.
no subject
He smiles, then scoots closer, so he can sit just behind her. One arm wraps around her waist and he kisses her cheek, while singlehandedly he cuts up a few more pieces of the pancake, lifting one of them up to her lips. ]
no subject
For now, though, this will more than do. She leans back into him, tipping her head into his kiss and resting her hand on his thigh. Dipping in to catch a bite of pancake on his fork, she licks her lips and chews, reaching up to hand-feed him one of the berries from the bowl. ]

Breaking the kiss again, he reaches for another piece of pancake for himself, washing it down with some coffee. ]
no subject
She presses a kiss to his jaw, returning to the bowl of fruit before slicing a piece of pancake for herself. After a few more berries, she leans back into him, holding her mug in both hands and taking a sip. ]
Got a long day today?
no subject
Busy one, at least. Some reports to go through, double-checking inventory, and finally dragging our dear Captain in for his regularly mandated check-up. But it shouldn't drag on too long, I don't think so.
[ He picks up his own coffee once he's done with the food, sipping at it. ] What about you?
no subject
She takes another piece of pancake as he talks, leaning her head back against his chest again. ]
He still hasn't come in for that? [ She laughs, shaking her head. ] You know he's gonna drill you on what's going on with us, right?
[ She finishes off the bowl of berries, picking up her coffee to wash it down. ] Ensign training in the morning. A few sparring sessions. Some security meeting with Spock in the afternoon. Oh, and Sulu wants to sword fight or fence or something later.
no subject
You know what? That might just assure that he will show up now. Bested by his own curiosity.
[ More like nosiness, but he won't get into details. Still not sure how much he'll tell him, but... well, it's Jim. He's his best friend, so he is going to tell him something. ]
Sounds all very... exciting. [ Kind of exhausting too, but then that's the kind of pace she's used to, isn't it. ]
no subject
Better give him a good story. Make it worth his while.
[ She leans up to peck his jaw, draining the rest of her coffee from her mug. ]
Spock's meeting will be the most exhausting, honestly. If I start sexting you around 1400, you'll know why.
no subject
[ He assumes sharing the truth is fine, anyway. Jim's his closest friend after all, and it's not like he's going to go around telling the whole crew about it. He's kind of assuming Sara doesn't want to keep all of this a secret...
Not that it'd have worked, either way.
He lets out a laugh at that. ] Better try and clear my schedule around that time, then.
no subject
She smiles a little at his response, craning her neck up to kiss his jaw again. ]
It's probably best. Wouldn't want to distract you from anything important. [ Right. ]
no subject
Sure. That absolutely doesn't sound like the kind of thing you'd do.
[ He chuckles, nudging her side while finishing the rest of his coffee too. ]
no subject
She grins, waiting for him to finish his coffee before twisting to press a kiss to his lips. Maple and coffee with a hint of berries. ]
You'll like it.
no subject
Mm, I've got no doubt that I will...
[ He murmurs against her lips with a chuckle, stealing one last slow kiss before pulling away. ]
Okay, we should start thinkin' about getting up now.
no subject
She hums on his lips, tugging him in for one last, deeper kiss before releasing her hold on him. ]
It's still early...
no subject
[ He can't help but laugh at that, pulling her closer and holding her in a loose embrace. He'd shake his head at how incorrigible she is, but a) he doesn't want to move his mouth away from hers, and b) he kind of likes it. A lot. ]
Guess we can still do some of that exercise routine of yours. Maybe a jog around the deck...
