landing party ( for thecanarylives )
[ He comes to with his head pounding, his vision blurred, and a persistent ringing in his ears. It takes him a while-- a good while, maybe seconds or maybe minutes, to even regain his vision properly, and to take in his surroundings. He's in a shuttle, which is completely wrecked, panels broken and burnt, wires hanging from everywhere, sparks going off and small fires here or there. They're also tilted forward slightly, so he can feel his weight pushing against the belts keeping him strapped to his chair. He looks beyond the window and he sees a lush forest just outside, trees and blue skies as far as the eye can see. It'd be pretty if not for the fact that they've clearly crashed on the planet they were supposed to land on.
Shit. Holy shit, they crashed. How the fuck did they crash? Leonard just wanted to gather some samples from the surface, it didn't even warrant a landing party bigger than two people, how the fuck did they end up like this?
That thought gets his brain into gear. Because he's not alone. He looks over to find Sara passed out, though at least thankfully still strapped to her seat. He lets out a shuddered breath, trying not to panic as he struggles to undo his own safety belt. ]
Sara!! Come on, you piece of shi-- [ His panicked grousing is cut off as his belt comes undone, and he just barely manages to brace himself against the controls rather than slam right into them. Head still spinning, he nevertheless forces himself to stumble towards her, looking her over briefly for possible injuries before he cups her face, trying to wake her up. ] Sara. Hey, can you hear me? Come on, open your eyes...

Head still spinning, he nevertheless forces himself to stumble towards her, looking her over briefly for possible injuries before he cups her face, trying to wake her up. ] Sara. Hey, can you hear me? Come on, open your eyes...

Smiling when he starts to dry her off, she watches him quietly a moment, fingers toying idly through his hair before she tiptoes up to peck at his lips. She takes the towel once he's done, drying him off in turn and mussing up his hair so it sticks out at odd angles. ]
C'mon, Grumpy. Let's get you into bed.
no subject
It's not like anyone's going to be coming in, and the temperature setting's perfectly adjusted. He climbs onto the mattress, then urges her to join him, pulling her down so she's lying down next to him. ]
That's unfair, I haven't complained about a single thing tonight, [ He observes with a small smile. ]
no subject
That's because I'm so freaking delightful. [ She grins, leaning in to kiss him again. ]
no subject
Yeah, and that's why I've never once complained or groused in your general direction. Because you're so delightful.
[ That's bullshit and they both know it, of course. ]
no subject
Mmhm. I'm pretty, too. [ She nips at his earlobe, arm draping around him. ] And pretty good in the sack.
no subject
[ He turns that into a soft little praise, kissing her cheek in return, smiling as he lets his face stay buried in the crook of her neck. He'll be glad to fall asleep just like this, curled up against her, limbs tangled, soft and warm. ]
rolling through to morning after, if that's cool :D
[ She murmurs back against his temple, letting her eyes drift closed.
It feels like only a moment later, but the alarm on her comm link starts buzzing in the early hours of the morning, a sharp pinging sound coming from somewhere across the room.
Groaning, she buries her face into the pillow to try and ignore it, muffling his face in the process. ]
of course <3!
The hell.
[ He groans, then starts to climb out of bed to find her comm device. After some stumbling into furniture, hissed cursing, and fumbling around, he comes back with it in hand, flopping onto the mattress with a groan while handing the device to her. ] Think that's yours.
no subject
She shifts the pillow off her face when she feels him move, unable to stop the smile that tugs at her lips when she sees him bolt upright, hair sticking out at odd angles against his head. Sitting up and watching him fumble around to find her comm, she wipes a hand over her face, blinking herself awake. ]
Sorry. Morning run alarm. [ She takes the device from him and swipes it to a stop, setting it on the nearby nightstand and glancing down at him. ] Go back to sleep.
no subject
I'm used to wakin' up early anyway.
[ Granted, he's usually much grumpier than this, but waking up to her in his bed certainly makes things much better. ]
no subject
Your shift doesn't start for another few hours, right? [ She presses a kiss to his temple, fingertips massaging against the back of his head.
She's usually up and changing into her workout gear by this point, but a few more minutes in bed with him won't kill her. It's... nice. Waking up with him and not having to piece together the night before. ]
no subject
I mean, if you're not busy... you could stick around. Maybe we can get up in a bit, have some breakfast together. [ He yawns lazily, squeezing her a little tighter for a brief moment. ] How's that sound?
no subject
Sounds nice. [ She presses a kiss to his jaw, resting her head in the crook of his neck and resting into the warmth of his chest. ] Or breakfast in bed.
no subject
[ But he's not opposed. He did get up to get her comm device, he can take care of breakfast. He should probably clean up their plates from last night, anyway. ]
What do you feel like havin'? Some pancakes, maybe?
no subject
Pancakes sound good. Coffee, too. Anything else? [ Keying in a large order of pancakes, a side of fruit, and two coffees, she stretches her neck a little, turning to glance over him and smiling at his silhouette. ]
no subject
No. That's just perfect. [ Not necessarily talking about just the breakfast. ]
no subject
Turning to take the tray of food and coffee, she makes her way back towards the bed, handing him the tray before climbing back in. ]
I'll try not to get maple syrup everywhere. [ She grins, leaning over to peck him on the cheek. ]
no subject
Guess we can always think of interesting ways to clean it up if you do.
[ Clean it off each other, that is. If it gets on the bed, he'll just have to change the sheets. ]
no subject
Well, I do like when we get creative. [ She smirks, pouring a bit of syrup onto the stack of pancakes and swiping a bit with her finger to taste. It's good, even for replicator food - though there's a chance they've just gotten used to that slightly synthetic aftertaste having been away for so long.
She plucks a few berries from the bowl, leaning a shoulder against his and munching on them. ]
You sleep okay?
no subject
He cuts up a corner of one of the pancakes, bringing it up for a taste. ]
Actually, yes. Slept better than I can remember in a while.
[ Even better than the last time they spent the night together. ]
no subject
She reaches out to toy her fingers through her hair again, corner of her lip twitching upwards a little as she watches him. ]
Yeah. Me too.
no subject
He smiles, then scoots closer, so he can sit just behind her. One arm wraps around her waist and he kisses her cheek, while singlehandedly he cuts up a few more pieces of the pancake, lifting one of them up to her lips. ]
no subject
For now, though, this will more than do. She leans back into him, tipping her head into his kiss and resting her hand on his thigh. Dipping in to catch a bite of pancake on his fork, she licks her lips and chews, reaching up to hand-feed him one of the berries from the bowl. ]
